Hi everyone. My name is Lou Martindale. I now live in West Monroe, Louisiana, with my cat Lily Belle. However, I lived in Brandon, Florida for forty years before moving here three years ago. I started writing about my life after taking a life story writing class offered at our local library taught by Val Perry. Because my parents were still living, I was eager to compile their life stories first. Dad was a WWII vet and both of my parent’s lived through the Great Depression. I finished their biographies and moved on to recording events of my life. Along the way I have had several stories published in various publications and last year my story, Furever in My Heart, about Lily Belle was published in an anthology of animals stories titled How I Met My Other, Furry Friends, True Tails edited by Arielle Haughee.
I telecommute for a company in Tampa, where I am the technical writer, webmaster and marketing specialist. I like to say, “My technical writing pays the bills, but creative non-fiction feeds my soul.” Besides writing I like to garden, make jewelry, and read. I have two daughters, one granddaughter and one grandson.
