My name is Millie Ford, a middle aged woman — oops, I lied — my name is Millie and I am a woman, but I don’t think I can call my self middle aged any longer. I have a Medicare card. I retired from working in corporate America, doing retail marketing for food and beverage companies. I am someone who has a big heart, is kind, smart and modest. I really don’t think I’m “all that.” I want to learn, keep going, be better. I have lived in the Chicagoland area for most of my life. I moved twice for work, to Denver (I loved it) and to New Jersey (not so much.) I currently live in a suburb north of Chicago. I knit, love nature and prefer cats to most people (I volunteer at a cat rescue shelter.) I write because I want to tell my story. Maybe someone will read it, maybe not. I don’t have any family so my story will be my legacy, something left behind to prove that I was here and I overcame the odds.
