Do I really need to hire an editor to help me with my book or story collection?

I’m asked this question a lot, and there isn’t a clear-cut answer. It depends on a number of things.

My book was edited first by a friend, who was a teacher and then it went through a professional editor twice. But, even then, as I finalized my last revision, I spotted minor errors. Living In Fear is now in the hands of an Amazon Bestselling author Barbara Leonhard. She requested the entire manuscript to read after I sent her three cahapters from my book.
