My mom started teaching me to type when I was five years old. My small fingers could barely press down the keys of that old manual Underwood typewriter, but still, she had me stretch my tiny fingers on the A-S-D-F and J-K-L-; keys.
My mother worked in the parish assessor’s office in South Louisiana and always thought I should be a secretary. I wasn’t interested in that profession, but I learned to type, really well.
On this, the second Thursday, we write in response to a prompt.

Linda, I’m very familiar with the phrase “How hard can it be” That’s how I originally felt about writing. Boy was that a surprise!
