You should always give your stories working titles before you begin to write. You can change the title later, but every story deserves a name.
This week’s writing tip comes from Bite #85 of Eating and Elephant: Write Your Life One Bite at a Time, “How to Write a Title.”
We look at several different methods for writing titles, and I provide examples of each.
With all the writing you do, remember, the only way to do this wrong is to not do it at all!

Happy writing, everyone.

I recently wrote (rewrote, actually) a story about apples, with slicing an apple into halves as the central image. I could have titled it “The heart of an apple”, “How you slice it”, or simply “I like apples”. The title I chose was “Long division”, because for me it suggested something a little deeper than merely cutting up a piece of fruit.
I’m inspired to create more vivid titles for my stories by the examples given in this video. Something the reader can grab onto! Thank you, Patricia!
Nice episode Patricia
