Day Five – Middle-Prior Decade

0%

Woohoo! Day five! You did it! Congratulations, my friend. I hope you are proud of yourself for what you’ve done. If you’ve done a lot; that’s awesome. If you’ve done a little, that’s still awesome because it’s more than you would have likely done otherwise. At Life Writers, we celebrate effort. Oftentimes, the result is not as important as the energy we put toward an outcome. We are proud of you. But don’t think you’re finished just yet.

Let’s dive into the firsts in the decade prior to the one you’re currently living. Grab ahold of those cluster diagrams one last time this week, but I hope you will continue to use them for future stories you write. Set a timer for ten minutes, and get busy picking out the firsts of the previous decade. By now, we hope we’ve brainwashed you into the need for brainstorming.

Today, we look at the messy middle of stories and the free-for-all that occurs there. The middle is often the most difficult part of the story to write, especially with larger, book-length manuscripts. The only way through it is to write your way out. With the s-story you are writing today, the middle might not be that difficult to traverse, but you want to make sure it includes all the necessary elements to complete your story. So, let’s see what you’ve got.

And for the last time, draft your story, post it in the comments section below, read the work of a few of your fellow challengers, and let them know they’ve been heard. Well done!
