Life Writers: Reading and Anthology Launch!

I am so excited to invite you to Read & Celebrate Live on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. ET. There, you’ll hear our Life Writers read their amazing stories and help us launch our brand new anthology: Writing Short: The Art of Micro-Memoir

Some Life Writers will join us live from Orlando, and others will be present via Zoom from across the United States, Canada, and Jamaica.

I am so proud of all our Life Writers for their hard work, courage, and willingness to share their stories with us.

If you are joining us in person for the reading and anthology launch, please come to the following location in the Orlando neighborhood of College Park:

The front of the church is on Princeton Street, but drive around the side, because the parking is actually on West Harvard Street. Park in the lot, and come into the fellowship hall, which faces the parking lot.

Life Writers who intend to participate in the reading–either live or via Zoom–please choose your spot in the reading order. You can only read 750 words or fewer, so if your segments are 300 words each, you’ll need to read two of them. Pick your best ones.

For the fifteen people who indicated they would like to join us for dinner after the reading, I’ve made reservations at Armando’s Italian Restaurant at 2305 Edgewater Drive in College Park, Orlando, at 5:00 p.m. It’s two blocks down from the church, so if you’re up for it, you can walk. Otherwise, there’s street parking on Edgewater and side streets, in a lot a block away, or in a parking garage. The easiest option is to walk, if that’s doable for you. You can also drop someone off at the corner of Edgewater Drive and Vassar Street, and the restaurant is right there.

Our anthology, which features many of our Life Writers, will be officially launched at Life Writers Read and Celebrate.

You can bring home one or more copies of Writing Short: The Art of Micro-Memoir and receive a second helping of some amazing stories.

If you placed an anthology order in advance, you can pick up your books at the reading, or they will be shipped to you.

Should friends and family wish to purchase copies of the anthology, they can now preorder them at the Writing Your Life shop, and they will be shipped free of charge within the United States.

Invite your neighbors, friends, and anyone who has a story that needs to be written. Here’s an invitation you can print out if needed. This is the program that will be handed out at the reading.

For our guests who are not members of Life Writers and are joining us via Zoom, please use this link to register. This is a private link to protect our session from being bombed, so we will only allow entry to people who have registered. If you are attending in person and bringing guests, they do not need to register.
