Usually, I share memoirs or writing craft books in the Life Writers Vlog on the fourth Thursday of each month, but in today’s episode, I switch it up a bit.
Let’s Talk Memoir is a podcast hosted by Ronit Plank, and in each episode, she interviews memoirists about their books, agents, publishers, and others related to all aspects of memoir.
I love this podcast for its insightful interviews, which offer practical advice and helpful books to people writing their memoirs.
I encourage you to check out the Let’s Talk Memoir podcast. If you do, let me know what you think.
Do you listen to podcasts? If so, do you follow any writing podcasts? What do you like or dislike about podcasts? Tell us about it.
Patricia,
Gonna get in touch with Ms. Plank. I wanna see how others feel about my essays.
Since I’m currently in a stall mode, it might give me some direction.
John
Hi Patricia, it’s been a long time!
I’m not a podcast listener I am a YouTube follower. But I will definitely try Ronik Plank. Who knows maybe Plank will want to interview me. It will be a great one for you since I will share that LifeWriters was part of my memoir writing journey. The journey that lead to my publishing my memoir Taxi to America.
Thank you for the information you share in your blogs. A shout out to all who remember me!
Best, Σtella
Not a podcast listener (too low-tech!) but this might get me into it! Will check her out. You might like Melba Tolliver’s new memoir, Accidental Anchorwoman. I’m biased – she’s my late husband’s cousin – but I think it’s terrific!
I have not been a podcast listener. I found the site and am listening to one of the podcasts now. It is a lot like the Javier Zamora session with the book club. The host asks very good questions and is probing without being obnoxious about it. I’ll definitely try another. I’m also looking into the Hidden Brain series Kit mentioned.
Thank you Patricia, I’ve listened to the 112th episode “DEEP LOVE DEEP HONESTY”, so interesting and reassuring in many ways for someone one like me who’s goal is to be published. I don’t know where people make time for podcasts as you for your vlog. You have my full admiration and respect. Thierry
I agree with Connie, Patricia, you have a wonderful way of speaking! I listen to a few podcasts when I walk or drive alone. One of my favorites is called Hidden Brain. The discussions revolve broadly around the different ways we think and how thoughts influence our lives. The guests are many authors and even academics who discus’s scientific studies on a variety of themed episodes. I enjoy the way the host reframes a guest statements, repeating them and asking the guest if he understands their point. The host, Shankar Vedantam, speaks slow enough and articulates well as you do.… Read more »
I have not listened to many podcasts, only of friends who have asked, but I will make a point to listen to this one. Thank you for the suggestion, and I so appreciate your talks, especially your perfect enunciation which makes you so easy to “hear”. Thanks, again….
