You may think where something happens isn’t nearly as important as what happened. That may be true in some instances, but readers need to be grounded in time and place in most stories. We do that by creating a setting, a container that holds the action of our signpost or s-stories. Spend a bit of time helping the reader see, feel, smell, taste, and hear the places you write about today.
