Writing Well

Course Overview:

Writing well relies on many factors, but it always starts with the basics. So in this session, we will focus on the two most important tools in a writer’s toolbox–verbs and sentences. Learn to choose the best verbs and verb tenses and construct sentences that are clear, interesting, and varied.

But, I promise, we won’t be diagramming any sentences. If you are really into that method of dissecting sentences, check out Sister Bernadette’s Barking Dog.

Follow along with weekly readings from The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein according to this schedule. You may want to print and use it as a bookmark.

If you haven’t yet watched the Reading Like a Writer video, I suggest you do so before starting the book. Then, watch the next two videos and work alongside me as we do close readings of the front/back covers and the front/back matter of The Invisible Wall.

Are you ready to get started? Then, let’s go.
