In this discussion of Mary Karr’s The Art of Memoir, we focus primarily on chapter twelve, “Dealing with Beloveds (On and Off the Page)” and more specifically, on her list of eleven rules for writing about others.
Few authors go to the lengths she outlines here, but it is good for us to know what we are willing and not willing to do in our writing.
Watch the video, and let us know which of Karr’s rules you agree with and what guidelines you follow in writing about people you know.
Is the recording of Leslie’s part of the Master Class meeting going to be posted also?
It’s in the dashboard dropdown menu, but here’s the link: https://lifewriters.us/courses/ll-meditation-master-class/. I have just the meditation she did on the menu as well.
Thanks a bunch! I’m traveling by car and you’ve made it easy for me to catch up on these fabulous sessions!
