Welcome to the May 2023 edition of the First Tuesday Write and Read.
When I wrote this prompt, I assumed most people had childhood experiences of picking fruits, vegetables, flowers, mushrooms, etc., but I’m a country girl. We were always picking something–blackberries, pecans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables from the garden, but the city folk among us struggled with this prompt.
So, if you don’t have picking experience as a child, feel free to choose any period in your life. If that still doesn’t fit, be creative. Some First Tuesday members wrote about picking shoes and library books, so use your imagination. You absolutely cannot do it wrong.
First, we’ll do a bit of brainstorming. Then, write your story.
After you’ve written, post your story in the comments section below so we can taste, smell, and experience your memorable meal.
Remember, the only way to do this wrong is to not do it at all!
