Q&A/Help a Member – August 2024

In our Q&A/Help a Member session, we had a great discussion of what to do with a body of work that’s been written but not edited and concluded a good thing to do is read through the entire text before editing, making notes as you go along.

The use of the Read Aloud feature in MS Word was also suggested. If you’re not familiar with Word’s Read Aloud feature, you should be.

It’s a great way to proof your text and see what’s actually on the page and not read in the small words we know should be there.

Here’s a video in Life Writers that explains what Read Aloud does and how to use it: Microsoft Word Read Aloud & Speak.

We also looked at how to create bulleted lists in MS Word.

Bring your writing questions and issues to next month’s Q&A/Help a Member.
