Most of the time, conversation involves back-and-forth speech, but occasionally one speaker goes on and on. We all know people like that, right?
Here’s the trick. Don’t close the quotation until the person is finished, even if it spans multiple paragraphs.
Quotations of a lengthy chat stay open until the speaker’s finished. Easy, right?
