Tonight, we discussed pages 186-198 of Solito by Javier Zamora.
Our conversation centered on the following:
Personification is a literary device in which human characteristics are given to animals, abstract concepts, and inanimate objects. Reverse personification, on the other hand, gives animal characteristics to humans. On pages 186-198, we find examples of Javier Zamora using this device. Identify these passages and be able to discuss what his use of reverse personification accomplishes.
We looked at Zamora likening the Six to chickens, the polleros to dogs, and Patricia to an owl. Did you see any others?
