Between Two Kingdoms – Chapters 1-11

0%

Let’s dive into chapters one through eleven of Between Two Kingdoms by Suleika Jaouad. Her writing is such that I could turn to any page and find an example of great writing to show you.

I restrain myself in this video, but I do want to look at how she begins the book and her use of description to characterize all people and places throughout. No person or place is too insignificant to detail, and Jaouad does it succinctly and effectively. I encourage you to try this in your writing. Every time you mention a person or place, write a line or two that helps us to see and not just read.

Very specific instructions. Thanks, Patricia. I appreciate that you always provide examples of what you’re talking about.

Thanks, Patricia for the lesson. I find descriptions, specifically when describing a person, essential to the story-telling. It is vital to the reader to see who the author talks about. The same applies when I write about special places, scents, and surroundings.
