You might think the word minor before characters means they are less important. Not true. A minor character is one who is not fully developed, but he/she serves an important function. A minor character may appear on the page to convey information, shed light on a main character or situation, introduce humor, or fulfill a host of other functions. So, don’t neglect the lesser people in your stories. Give them their due.
