In this book craft class, we used pages 203-204 of Rick Bragg’s essay, “Old Florida Found,” in Where I Come From to study ways to describe place, also called setting.

We examined Bragg’s detailed description of a memorable souvenir shop in Panama City Beach and it contents. He utilizes lists and specificity to allow readers to see the place through his ten-year-old eyes.
