Wild – Pages 222-273

0%

In our book study of Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed, we discussed chapters 14-16, pages 222-273.

For our discussion, we focus on this topic:

Strayed’s relationship with her mother is central to Wild. Throughout the memoir, Strayed keeps her mother alive on the page. In these and earlier chapters, the author uses a variety of techniques to accomplish this. Locate instances of her mother’s presence and explain Strayed’s methods.

Strayed’s relationship with her mother and her mother’s death contribute to the central question in Wild.

What is the central question in the story or memoir you’re currently working on? How can you lead your readers to the answer to that question?

Very much enjoyed listening to this session. You all pointed to the author’s talent in making the arc of the change happen along the story line. Much nourishment for my future writing. Thank you.
