We have many types of history–public, personal, emotional, political, social, economic, cultural, environmental, just to name a few. We also have tangible history where our possessions, especially the ones we keep without significant monetary or functional value, hold parts of our stories. We look at a couple of pieces of tangible history Helen Fremont writes about in her memoir, After Long Silence.
