LIVE EVENTS
Wednesday Write-In every Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET.
First Tuesday Write and Read is available to all Life Writers Community members who care to join on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Meet with your writing partners at Buddy Group Night on the second Tuesday of every month. Kit Dwyer will host these sessions going forward, with an assist from Dave Godin when needed.
Third Tuesday Presents…Elmore Leonard’s Ten Rules of Writing, hosted by Nancy Tunnell. She’ll review the most important rules from this wildly successful American author, short story writer, and screenwriter. To see what’s coming up in future months, check out the new Third Tuesday Presents… page.
Our fourth Tuesday session starts at 5:30 p.m., where you can ask questions or check in with your writing projects.
Next up on the fourth Tuesday, we’ll discuss Judy Fink’s story, “Alaska,” in our Member Story Review. Read through Judy’s story several times and be prepared to discuss it using our usual format as outlined in the Feedback Form. The video replay of the story notes with jump links will be posted a few days after the session.
We’ll finish off the fourth Tuesday of February with our Monthly Feedback Group.

TASKS
Schedule personal writing time.
Print the February 2026 calendar.
I’m excited to reveal our new Life Writers Community support person—Kit Dwyer. Yay! If you have questions or need help, contact Kit at kit_dwyer@msn.com, and she will point you in the right direction.
Submit a story for review for our Monthly Feedback Group on the February Feedback Night page by Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Expand your writing knowledge by dipping into the Life Writers archives. The featured workshop of the month is Your Writing Voice. Demystify what voice is and learn how to define yours. The video is not very good in some spots, but you should be able to hear everything when the video is wacky.
Upload a story for possible review for future Member Story Review sessions. We need stories for April through the end of 2026.
Check out our Good Stuff page, where you can share good news, links to articles, talk about books you’ve read, or anything else you’d like that’s writing-related.
Check out this new-to-me literary magazine called Short Reads. Like the River Teeth journal, Short Reads delivers a weekly story to your inbox once you subscribe. They are also requesting submissions of 1,250 words or fewer.
