Now, you know everything needed to write great dialogue.
Ask yourself, have I:
- tried to keep it interesting, not too much fancy jargon?
- made it sound like speech, not writing?
- ensured the speech matches the speaker?
- made sure you can tell who’s talking?
- given it meaning and purpose?
- allowed each speaker his/her due?
- written enough and unobtrusive taglines?
- created a good back-and-forth, so no one’s hogging the mic unless that’s their vibe?
So, let your characters talk, give them a chance. Write that dialogue, and let them shine. Surprise yourself. Go on, get those voices heard!
