Tips #2 and #3 – New Speaker, New Paragraph – Avoid Meaningless Exchanges

0%

Here’s the lowdown on tip #2: new speaker, new paragraph, period, always, forever.

Yeah,  a new line might seem a bit excessive for single-word responses, but it’s about giving your reader a heads-up on a shift. Plus, it’s easy on your reader’s eyes.

Now, onto tip #3: skip the small talk. Dialogue is reconstructed speech, not a courtroom transcript.

There’s no need for those boring pleasantries. Save space for the good stuff, the juicy bits that characterize the people and move the story forward.

Make it meaningful; keep it interesting.
