We went down a different road with this month’s First Tuesday Write & Read writing prompt and ended up with some pretty amazing results.
Also, I thought I’d let you see what happens in our live First Tuesday sessions in case you haven’t been able to join us before.
As a way to loosen up and get ready to write, we have a dance party. Yes, a dance party. So, wherever you are, jump up and dance with us.
After a bit of brainstorming on what we might say to our thirteen-year-old selves, group members wrote a letter to the young person they were, knowing what they know now.
Some reported touching messages, some funny, others wise and warm.

If you weren’t able to make it to our live First Tuesday event, what would you say to your young self?
We’d love to read your letter. If you care to share it with us, post it in the comments section below.
Here is my letter to my teenage self.
Terry,
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your letter to self. You clearly are farther down the road with writing than I.
Terry, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your story. You explained so much to your thirteen-year old self. What great comparisons. Thanks!
Here is my letter to my 13-year-old self. Please let me know what you think.
Etya,
May I first apologize for the prejudices you have endured. Life is difficult enough without throwing in extra.
I truely enjoyed your letter to self, I can only hope to be as eloquent a writer as you one day.
