How do you feel about editing/revising your text? Love it? Hate it? See it as a necessary evil? If you fall into any of these categories, you aren’t alone.

If you’d like to take notes as I discuss why it’s important to, print out this handy outline.

Patricia, For the first twelve plus minutes you talk about editing. Then there is a slight change for the last few minutes to revising. Is there a difference? I would consider myself more of a revisor, than an editor. Since I hammer the initial paper with my thoughts, I usually have at least two sessions (in some cases more) going over, editing, revising, whatever.
BTW, what I enjoy with the buddy sessions, challenges, and feedback groups is presenting my rough drafts and getting reactions.
Editing is essential to ensure continuity in storytelling. Critically examining choices of words will bring the story to its best conclusion.
I really don’t mind editing and, in fact, kind of enjoy reading and re-reading my writing as well as what my buddies write. It is true that one learns from mistakes in the editing/revising process. Good reminders in today’s video.
