Practice Feedback Session

0%

In our first Writers CAFE on Tuesday, June 14, at 5:00 p.m. ET, we will practice giving story feedback. This is a good opportunity for everyone to participate in a live feedback session.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a sample story for review. Nancy Kowalski’s story, “Manor House,” was randomly selected for our sample feedback review. Click here to read and review Nancy’s story.

If you have not been in a Life Writers feedback session yet, please watch the Giving and Receiving Feedback video.

Complete the Feedback Form, which you can use as you provide feedback to the author. After all feedback sessions, we ask that you send this completed sheet to the author for his/her review.

Also, here is detailed information on how to prepare your story to receive feedback: Prepare for Feedback Submission.

I look forward to practicing with you.

The joys of animals, children, and unwanted critters. What a delightful story. We had a bird trapped in our our house once. Finally we caught it with a fishing net. It’s hard to say who was more distressed, us or the bird. But it’s those unexpected moments that make lifetime memories. Lovely tale!

Hi Julie
A great entertaining story with lots of description, action and mystery. I love chipmunks, but not in my house.

This story is 900 words — hope that’s OK. Thanks

Hi Nancy K.
I am sure Luke would have loved to hear your story about how things have changed from generation to generation. The idea of being responsible for your siblings in a place you have never been, with unfamiliar surroundings makes a great story.

Delightful, Nancy. I can see the three of you snuggled in that single bed, your feet no doubt hanging over the enge. And I could feel my feet on the cold floor, and the icy rim of the chamber pot on another part of my anatomy. We also used chamber pots when visiting my grandparents when I was a kid – and they, too, had flowers! You are wonderful at painting a picture of times past and a child’s progression from apprehension to ease to exuberance at the change of scene. Bravo!

Nancy,
Maybe that’s why I was a juvenile delinquent in Brooklyn……No chores around the farm to tend to.
Nice story.

Nancy,
Great work on “Farm Kids work, work, work.” I remember chores, but none like living on the Farm. Keep up the good writing. Thanks for sharing!

Susan, what a special story! I love it and your writing. You are a pro! My husband Don and I had a whirlwind romance – we met on St. Patrick’s Day, Engaged on July 10, and married on Nov. 7. I suppose I should try to write a story about that. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Susan
Thanks so much for your romantic story. Both of you were so willing to change, but you still honoured the memories of your previous lives. This takes courage.

Thanks so much, Nancy. We’ve been married almost sixteen years now, and we still count our blessings every single day!

Beautiful story, Millie. How lovely that Dennis came into your life and that you were able to share such a special moment.

Hi Millie
It is wonderful that Dennis’s ultrasound sparked such an important memory of your father’s love. You can now cherish it forever.
