What is a Rock Star Writer?
You’re a Rock Star Writer if you complete the daily challenges, post what you write in response to each day’s lesson, and engage with your fellow members for all three days of the Free Three-Day Writing Challenge. That’s it!
We’re providing a sweet incentive for you to stay focused and committed to writing this week. Read on to learn what Rock Star Writers can earn and how to qualify.

Here is my story from Day One of the Challenge.
Here is my story from theThree-Day Writing Challenge.
Rock Star Entry. One from the challenge. I added a few pictures to make the story real.
Wonderful story. I also struggled with the word limit. It took me three tries to get to 750 words. Part of the problem is my inexperience as a writer, not having a feel for the right mix of description and action. I’m sure you felt much of the same frustration, trying to condense it all into a few pages.
When you were talking about Yellowstone I remembered when I’d last been there. It was on fire and the lodge parking lot was full of fire trucks.
What is the story about? This story is about a flood in the Beartooth Mountains of Wyoming and Montana in 2022. It had snowed heavily in April and May. The June rain added to the amount of water in the rivers. You were used to flooding, but this year even though they had made precautions of driving vehicles across the bridge, they found the bridge was washed out as well. The story also describes how you managed the horses. What did the Author do well? I liked how you started with the snow in April and added to it until… Read more »
Rock Star Writers Entry
My Rock Star submission. It’s a new version of one Patricia commented on in the last challenge – she thought I had two stories in it then. I hope this is only one! sorry, I can’t figure out how to attach… Betty Lou Born three weeks after Pearl Harbor, I grew up in a small town in Maine, a WASPy town in the WASPiest of states. Named Elizabeth Louise, for the first few years of my life, I was called Betty Lou. That small-town, country-song name was a perfect metaphor for a narrow, plain-vanilla way of life that, along with… Read more »

A Foiled Camping Trip
My Story. Mrs. Landers Grocery
What is the story about? This story is about memories of your family’s experience with a grocery store and the woman who owned it. What did the author do well? You provided a great description of the store, Mrs. Landers, the penny candy. I liked the scene where you found a dime and went to the store for a surprise package. I could see you as a little boy in that store, anticipating what candy you were going to receive from Lucille. What could the author do to improve the piece? This is just a suggestion. Patricia went over the… Read more »
Quite the flashback, David. I could feel the youthful exhuberance and wistful remembrance of a time long ago.
You don’t fail to please. Sweet success!
I wish I’d written this story. I grew up next to a store such as this and had the same experience with the
candy counter and the cigarettes. You described the experience so well! Good job!
This is my story from the challenge day one
Judy that sounds like quite a harrowing experience, but what a gift that your son’s condition was discovered before it erupted into something even worse.
WHAT A STORY!
This is my first story.
What adventures you had as a nurse practitioner in Alaska!
